1 You are paid $2.40 per Watt for what is installed. The photo shows a 6,000 Watt system. That’s a check for $14,400 to the homeowner!
2 Under a long-term contract, the customer is paid $0.11/kWh for all electricity made by solar. This payment happens for BOTH energy consumed in home and energy exported to the grid.
3 Most of the solar energy generated is used in the home so you don’t have to purchase it from the utility.
4 If, in the summer, you make more than you use, you have a credit toward your winter energy usage.
5 If enough credit is earned in the last step, you may not have to pay for energy coming in!
